openCOLA is an autonomous and collaborative agent that collects, analyzes, and delivers dynamic content. Inputs can be set to cull the Web, Usenet, your e-mail, and other Internet information resources. Outputs can be set to post relevant results to the Web, Wireless devices, and PDAs, among others.

Yet another time-waster. Number 40 in an infinite series.

Neat l'il resource, this is.

And we were dancing, and singing, and moving to the music...

Yaaaaaawwwwwnnnnn... I don't understand why they spent so much time trying to keep the old paradigm involved in the development of a better UI. Really. I just don't get it. I mean, if you are going to try to make it better, go for it whole hawg! Don't take half-measures!

Cute.

I think that it's pretty self-evident that the numbers ain't real.

In a strange and not-very-likely world, this could be your partner...

Feeling low-down about your job? Try a new job title. It may help... you never know. I kinda liked my new title... Erudite Net Conceptualist, although I'm not too sure about the Erudite. Net Conceptualist... I like that...

For lazy developers: time, cost, and quality. You can have any one of them.

Just when you thought there was nothing new under the sun!

Cool site, courtesy of weblab.

He used the force...

Wassup with Microsoft actually having decent articles on their site?

You will make money! Oh, send me a dollar for posting this link. When you post it on your site, you can ask for a dollar too. We'll all make money. Hint: I take paypal.

Is this what I need to be aware of to be an IT executive? SIgn me up?

I guess it had to happen sometime; time is money, but I never expected this.

Feeling cowardly?

I curse thee, dack, for posting this link. I can't stop rating people's looks. Hideously, hideously addictive. Why? Perhaps because it allows us to judge anonymously, without fear of retribution. Perhaps because it simply lets us look at a cross section of humanity in all their glory (or lack thereof).

Get yer free board games here!

Get a sense of how big the solar system really is.

Scary stuff. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this same sort of thing happen right before the fall of the roman empire? The biggest problem is mentioned on the front page: how will they be treated by society when they look like young women, not children. It worries me; I have a 4-year old daughter. I pray that she will have a "normal" childhood.

It's not that hard to view the source code of a page, even if someone is trying to "protect" it. But this just makes it easier.

Assuming your friends are wired, have some fun playing matchmaker.

This is just funny.

Usability linkage: Usability 1st, Information & Design, National Cancer Institute.

Go, go, gadget-phone!

This tool is kind of neat. It turns your email address into a mix of character entities and regular text, hopefully avoiding the spam spiders. Of course, it's probably best just to use a contact form instead and avoid having your email address listed on the page at all. I'm currently using a cheesy form that has a recipient field in the page, which of course requires me to have an email address in plain HTML. In my lazy way, I plan to avoid the spammers by periodically changing that email address whenever I get too much spam. Funny thing though. I haven't got a single piece of spam mail through it yet. And at the same time, I have started receiving a TON of spam from one single internet purchase wherein I gave my true and most useful email address without thinking. Ticked, I am; yes, indeed.

Speaking of spam... look at this great idea! And you can track each email address to see which of them generates the most spam!

Yes, I'm a nerd. Cause I especially like this text.

I want it!

A nice article giving a long-range forecast of technical feasibility. I've loved Raymond Kurzweil's writing ever since I received The Age Of Intelligent Machines as a gift years and years ago.

As if you didn't look at enough spam already, now you can go and search it. Accidentally deleted that spam for the half-price razor scooter? Maybe you can find it here...

You know, I was told once that "I was too much into web development, and not enough into formal software development." This document is precisely the kind of step that needs to be taken to drag web development kicking and screaming into the world of reproducability and reliability. Great, great stuff.

How badly does your site wank?

Useful link.

This is kinda cool...

Real awards or just marketing?

You know, I always love that correspondence stuff, where people write crazy letters to corporations/important people and get (usually) non-humorous responses back.

Kill some time today.
