Well, the project management seminar finished up today. More good information, including most common causes of failure of IT projects and how to mitigate them. On a side note: this was the first seminar I have gone to since I entered the workforce as an IT professional at which they served absolutely no food. None. It was a true cause of sadness to me. Linky linky on Monday.

I went to a Project Management seminar today. It was actually pretty good. Apparently project management has a lot to do with schmoozing and salesmanship, in addition to needs and risk analysis, scheduling and estimation, and a heck of a lot of information gathering and recording. Plus you gotta be a motivator and a communicator. Lots of skills there. I felt kind of wierd, too, mixed in with a bunch of VPs, Senior Project Managers, CIOs, and the like. But, like I said, it was good. More later, as I'll be there tomorrow too. Maybe I'll have a weekend update. Ooh. Aah.

Thought for the day: God made Adam and Eve naked. They weren't ashamed until they ate the fruit of knowledge. So why are so many religions and cultures still hung up on covering up our bodies?
No matter how catchy it is, I detest this song. As far as I can tell, the song basically says, "Ladies, your man went out with his friends last week, so you should dress up, go to the club, and find a man (or woman) to party and have sex with." Yup, there's nothing wrong with America and our views on relationships and fidelity, is there?
Biotech is some freaky stuff, my friends. Of course, you gotta know that it isn't all going to be good for us.

What a beautiful design on the front page. The man typing as the words scroll through his computer and desk just really speaks to me for some reason. I like it. Lots.

Advice for the day: when you mess up (and you will), take responsibility for your mistake, acknowledge it and apologize sincerely. Works tons better than trying to hide it or wish it away.
Can you believe this crap??!!! What the hell is wrong with out nation's children - heck, our grownups too - that they would even consider trying something like this? It terrifies me for my children's sake and enrages me, for their sake.
Cool download: hosts file pre-filled with tons of the major advertisers on the web. Take that, suckas!
So the first version of Micro Soft's operating system was very possibly stolen, inadverntently helping to found the open source movement? Hmmm. Well. Interesting spin, doctor...
I was really into artificial life about five years ago. Rodney Brooks had just built Genghis and Attila, and the field seemed wide open. I hadn't heard of Mark Tilden, though. He's got some cool ideas. Kits available.
So the "man" wants to use hackers to check the security of their software. 'Fraid not!

My wife's party was a lot of fun. The band was great, especially their first set. Lots of beer-drinkin' and dancin' and just plain fun. I think everyone who came had a great time, at least I hope so...
Symbols of western civilisation. Some cool stuff here, I tell you. Mega-neat.
This is absolutely unbelievable. No, scratch that. It's believable, alright, just disgusting.
Oh, fer cryin' out loud. Having owned a hermit crab in the past, I know I'm capable of succumbing to the mania, but this is ridiculous.
<snicker>Heh.</snicker>
Interesting... Must read more...
