It's raining like crazy today. I was woken up by a blast of thunder as loud as a shotgun; the lightning right outside the window kept me from going back to sleep. Driving to work was like swimming in a murky lake - I was hydroplaning on the freeway at 30 miles per hour. What's really crazy are the people who don't seem to understand how dangerous this kind of weather is; they'll tailgate you and then zoom by you at 50 or 60 miles per hour when the visibility is so bad you can't see more than 20 or 30 feet ahead of you. Totally frightening.

My lovely and talented wife made me some homemade chicken soup last night. Potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, mushrooms, and lots of garlic! It's amazing how quickly a good bowl of chicken soup will clear your nasal passages and warm your heart. I brought some for lunch, too.
