People are so stupid sometimes

E sent me a link to an article from the St. Louis Tribune about some very stupid parents who are all up in arms after a science teacher showed Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth to kids in science class without notifying the parents.

Telling quote: With the educational debate over evolution subsided for now after several court rulings that "intelligent design" did not qualify as a science acceptable for classroom instruction, some have switched battlefields.

It's all about finding a way for people to fight science using their Magic Book of choice. It kills me. My best guess is that these people are used to picking and choosing the things they believe in their religious system, and they're so uneducated they think that science works the same way - you can pick and choose.

I really hope one of them comes out soon saying that cell phones and internal combustion engines don't really work, because they have chosen not to believe in them.
